The Singareni Thermal Power Plant has got prestigious “Energy Efficiency Award” for the year 2021 from The Council of Enviro Excellence (Mumbai), which announces incentive awards for research on various aspects related to power generation companies, on 22nd October 2021. This outstanding award was given to STPP in the category of about 100 plants with a capacity of 500 MW and above in South India, in recognition of the most efficient use of coal, for achieving low temperature with low coal, saving on electricity and oil consumption for plant needs.
Normally plants with a capacity of 600 MW are standardized to consume 2444 kcal of energy (coal) to produce one unit of electricity. Of the two plants at the 1200 MW STPP, one plant consumes only 2425 kcal (coal) per unit of electricity, which is less than the specified standards of production per unit of electricity

The 2×600 MW Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) has bagged the “Best Power Plant Performer” award for Southern Zone given by Mission Energy Foundation. The award was announced at the concluding session of a nationwide webinar organised by the foundation on Friday. Announcing the award, the organisers stated that SCCL team’s hard work had contributed to the success in the power sector.
STPP has bagged the award in the 500 MW and above units category for excelling both in operations and maintenance.

The Award was presented at 72nd Annual Day celebration of Central Excise at Hyderabad on 24/2/2015 by Chief Guest, Justice A.Raja Shekar Reddy, Hon.Judge, High Court of A.P. and received by SCCL.

- Bi-partite Safety meeting held on 17.05.2013 at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad to discuss the technical, mandatory and operational related issues of safety in working of mines. Sri. S.I.Hussain, Dy.DGMS, South Central Zone and Sri. Sutirtha Bhattacharya C&MD,SCCL Co-Chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by officials of Dy.DGMS, SCZ, functional Directors of SCCL along with Area General Managers and Corporate Heads.
- APMDC and SCCL entered in to Joint Venture Agreement on 22-04-2013 for Development & Operation of Suliyari-Belwar coal block belonging to APMDC in the State of Madhya Pradesh. Sri Mukesh Kumar Meena, IAS, VC & MD, APMDC and Sri B. Ramesh Kumar, Director (Operations), SCCL, signed the Agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
