The Expert Committee on Road Map for Coal Sector Reforms constituted by Government of India headed by Shri T.L.Sankar, I.A.S (Rtd.) has visited SCCL and discussed the key issues concerning the growth of Indian Coal Sector with the Management of SCCL, Officer Association of Singareni Branch(CMOAI) and the Recognized Trade Union SCMLU (INTUC) of the company on 4th December 2006 at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad. The purpose of this visit is to discuss and take suggestions on reformation of Indian coal industry before finalizing and submitting the expert committee report to the Government on ROAD MAP FOR INDIAN COAL SECTOR (Part-II) |
The key challenges and long term policy issues for the growth of Indian Coal Mining Sector were suggested to the committee by Sri S.Narsing Rao, I.A.S, C&MD SCCL on behalf of the Management of SCCL. |

Shri B.Venkat Rao President of SCMLU, the recognized Union has suggested the important issues to be considered for the future growth of Indian Coal industry including the issue of wage fixation of workmen |

Shri. Venkataramaiah, President of CMOAI has also presented the challenges faced by the Indian coal companies particularly the key issues of underground mines and Long wall technology in a long term vision. |
In the After– Noon session Expert Committee discussed with the representatives of Niveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) on the same subject. |
