| Synthetic colours often contain lead oxide (black), Mercuric oxide (red), Chromium iodide(purple), Copper Sulphate (green) etc., which cause skin irritation , eye problems, respiratory problems and pollute water bodies. |
| Holi can be celebrated in an eco- friendly way with the natural colours. Some of the these are easily available to us like Gulal,paste and tilaks made from Sandal wood powder, henna paste and powder, rose petals , Bougainvillea flowers,turmeric,beet root and marigold flowers etc. |
