"SCCL will play a key role in transforming the newly formulated Telangana State to Bangaru Telangana with required Coal and Power produced by company”, said Sri N.Sridhar, IAS, C&MD SCCL in his opening speech in the central function of the Singareni Formation Day Celebrations held at Kothagudem today. "Under the guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana State Sri K.Chandrsekhar Rao, company has decided to implement dependent employment scheme after 20 years, by which about 30 thousand dependents are likely to get employment in Singareni", said C&MD Sri N.Sridhar.
 
Singareni Collieries, previously known as 'The Hyderabad (Deccan) Company Limited', started its coal mining in the year 1889 and was named as 'The Singareni Collieries Limited' on 23rd December 1920. On this day, celebrations are conducted all over the mines located in 6 Districts of Telangana every year.
 
On this occasion C&MD has requested employees to put all their good effort in producing and dispatching quality coal to all consumers. SCCL could distribute Rs 535 crores as bonus to employees this year as a result of achieving Rs 1000 crores of profits during the year 2015-16. Similarly this year too every Singareni employee should contribute his share to achieve the annual targets fixed for this year, he said. He also said that SCCL stands at 1st place in Country in achieving highest ever Production, Productivity and implementing welfare activities in large scale. He also told that about Rs 40 crores are allocated for Corporate Social Responsibility activities for taking up in surrounding towns and villages of company.
 
In the morning session C&MD, Sri N.Sridhar, IAS has hoisted the Singareni flag and also opened stalls of different departments in premises of Praksham Stadium, Kothagudem where the central function is organized. In the evening function, he gave his message and distributed prizes. Singareni directors Sri A.Manohar Rao, Sri P.Ramesh Babu and Sri J.pavitran Kumar and recognized and representative union delegates also took part in the celebrations.
