Orientation of the staff towards eco-friendly thinking has led to measures like greening of supply chain, introduction of eco-friendly technology for coal mining and blasting and switching over to timber alternatives. It helped in internalizing environmental costs in the new project designs, implementation and decommissioning of the projects. The major benefit is eco-friendly Singarenians.
Eco-friendly standards set by the company have won the appreciation from many coal miners, scientists, forestry experts etc. SCCL is a member in the committee set up by BIS for defining the standards of eco-friendly coal mining. IIM Lucknow is preparing the case study on environmental initiatives of the company. Environment audit for the company is conducted in the year 2004. Manuguru OCP has 14001 certification.
Providing clean and green aesthetic working and living environment for every worker and their family has been our target and every one is striving to achieve this. Plantations are encouraged in homesteads, colonies, mine premises, office premises to enhance greenery and aesthetic value. Parks and gardens are developed for recreation purpose, so far 28 parks and 68 gardens are developed
